Banbury-based TWE Haulage is going back to its roots with a new-build premises being constructed on the site of its very first yard.
Ross Edden, son of the founder and MD Trevor Edden, realised that the company needed space to grow from its current premises. The company has gone on to buy the whole of the 1.2 acre ‘Clearway House’ plot in Banbury including an industrial unit at the front of the estate.
“When TWE started out in 1982, we found some space in Banbury which had the grand name of Clearway House industrial Estate but was basically some small lots, with plenty of parking and lots of mud. At the time there were other businesses present so we couldn’t expand at that site – but now we can develop our own purpose-built transport operation there,†says Edden.
Development of the site started in May 2016 with a completion date of December 2016. “Although we are designing the site from scratch we intend that it will always be a work in progress, because we’ll continue to adapt it to meet our needs. The MD’s vision is to build a business fit for the future which his sons will continue,†says Edden.
