West-Bromwich-based Transervice Express Transport started 2015 with a major expansion, moving into new premises four times the size of its old depot and taking over the goodwill and clients of fellow TPN Member MWT when the directors wished to retire.
MD Paul Johnson says the company has retained three-quarters of MWT’s customers despite fierce competition from other networks, thanks to their former experience of TPN.
“MWT’s postcodes in Wolverhampton and Dudley we have passed to other Members to ensure that the handover was completely seamless for clients,†says Johnson. “As it is we have doubled our own pallet input by taking on the Tividale and Smethwick areas, which border our own.â€
The company has doubled its original plans for moving to an upgraded site and now has 40,000 square feet of space, with 18,000 sq ft of covered loading bay, and a substantial racked warehouse. Transervice has extensive experience in general palletised freight but also couples TPN with its warehousing and order fulfilment skills for stationary companies, heavy industry, Italian builders’ merchants and fire-door manufacturers.
