The rigorous judging, carried out by senior engineers and facilities managers from leading retailers, manufacturers and third party logistics providers, looked for innovation, efficiency gains, safety and environmental improvements, outstanding design and service excellence from the products.
TPN – The Pallet Network – invested in the cutting edge ePOD solution in 2014. It required a system which could both integrate with its IT architecture, TPN Connect, and offer complete tracking for pallets from their point of origin to their final destination.
The TPN Hub at Minworth handles over 13,000 pallets a night, destined for all corners of the UK. The operation has recently opened a Northern Hub near Preston to take a small proportion of this volume and allow the business to develop with greater inter-regional efficiency.
Mark Duggan, TPN MD, says: “The ePOD system gives real-time information, removes paperwork, provides immediate answers to customer queries and monitors compliance with customer KPIs. All of this gives our Member companies a huge value-add, as well as saving time, improving performance and reducing operational costs.”
“We’re very proud it won this award and would like to congratulate TranSend Solutions on a sterling design job – but we’re not surprised,” he continues.
David Cook, MD of TranSend says: “We are delighted to win this award in recognition of the innovative ePOD solution we offered TPN – an innovative company that is committed to customer service excellence and offers its Members added value through streamlining and automating its delivery operation. Through full visibility of the delivery process, they operate more efficiently, improve driver and vehicle utilisation and provide a more pro-active customer service. ”
Ask any of our partners and they’ll tell you that TPN is THE Pallet Network. And they’ll mean it.
