TPN performance goes UP as volumes rise – ‘That’s why we are THE Pallet Network’

TPN – The Pallet Network – has bucked industry trends by continuing to improve its performance through the busiest weeks of the year. MD Mark Duggan says despite record-breaking volumes of 75,000 pallets a week, TPN not only held its KPIs steady but increased its on-time delivery performance by 0.2%.

“Many networks see customer service and performance suffer when volumes peak but we have continued to improve through our record-breaking volume weeks,” says Duggan. “Our strategy to make our network service utterly resilient and stable, peak-proof if you like. Our excellent performance levels are we why we are The Pallet Network.”

The strategy has involved continual future-proofing of the Minworth Hub, which will continue this year with a canopy for six new loading bays. It has also seen new product development which allows better capacity management for freight such as TPN XL. The network has also followed a relentless approach to continual improvement, with the network audit team paying 447 visits to member depots to support their TPN operations.

TPN’s excellent service performance is also due to its market-leading software TPN Connect which gives customers control and visibility of their own jobs, and TPN’s haulier Members excellent free tools to manage their operation and their business. “Connect makes the business of pallet distribution easier and more efficient for everyone concerned,” says Duggan. “It’s proving a great attraction to customers who tell us they love it.”

TPN’s recent ISO:9001 accreditation for its Hub operation also extends to Members’ TPN operations once they achieve their Certificate of Excellence. This is an external recognition of the rigour and high quality control involved in the TPN audit.

“Our focus is on high-quality, best-value pallet distribution,” says Duggan. “We will continue to invest and improve because you do not sustain excellence by standing still.”
