TPN Awards 2018 celebrates leading performance in logistics

TPN – THE Pallet Network – celebrated leading performance in logistics at its TPN Awards 2018 at a sell-out event in Stratford-upon-Avon last Saturday.

The event was attended by more than 80% of TPN’s extensive membership, which comprises 108 UK Members with 125 depot locations. Over 400 guests came to the Crowne Plaza hotel for an evening of glitz, glamour and a celebration of the very best performing companies in the UK pallet network sector.

The night also marked TPN’s 18^th birthday, in a year when it is forecast to deliver circa 4.5 million pallets, has opened its third Hub location in Northampton and leads the field in IT development.

TPN MD Mark Duggan says: “This was an exceptional night, not only a chance to celebrate the extremely high levels of customer service and compliance which TPN works to cultivate and maintain, but also a chance to reflect on the huge progress the network has made in its 18 years, but most particularly recently.

“We are developing apace as a network, with ever-higher standards, our journey towards peak-proof service resilience and our continued evolution of the pallet network model. We are inordinately proud of our Members and thrilled that so many of them – indeed so many that we couldn’t pack another seat into the event – wanted to come and share in this wonderful occasion. It is a testament to our culture – OneTeamTPN.”

The awards, which were hosted by comedian Al Murray and the voice of the National Lottery Alan Dedicoat, were as follows:

MRC Special Recognition Award
This award is chosen by the Member Representative Committee (MRC) and recognises a Member or person within the network who has shown initiative, come through diversity or to recognise the work they have done with charity.
Winner: James Charnley of Cumbria Logistics.                                                                                   

Business Development Awards
North Region Ken Mallinson & Sons
East Region Hi-Speed Services (Rugby)
South Region Eminence Logistics
West Region John Pearce Transport

Customer Care Award
This recognised the depot which received the most ‘good service’ reports during the year, and which has gone above and beyond in the name of customer service.
Winner: Tooles Transport

Operational Excellence Award
This recognises the highest score for the Annual Audit across the network. This year the Audit had additional criteria making it even tougher but with the added caveat that once passed, the TPN operation is ISO 9001 accredited.
Winner: B&T Hicks Transport

Best New Member Award
This award celebrates the best all round new member in their first year of membership with TPN.
Winner: EDG Group

Delivery Depot of the Year Award
This award recognises the best delivery member across the network, taking into account delivery service KPIs, number of service failures and delivery volumes.
Winner: Eezehaul

Regional Depot of the Year Awards
These awards are voted for by members to recognise excellence amongst their peers. The top prize – Depot of the Year – is selected from these regional winners.

TPN Performance Awards – Gold, Silver & Bronze
The TPN Performance Awards reward elite levels of performance consistency during 2017, based on KPI service data. The recipients have maintained a 99%+ performance average throughout 2017, setting a high-performance benchmark for the network.
