TC Group delivers up to 200 pallets a day with TPN’s Davies Turner

Family-run furniture company TC Group imports from a number of partner factories, as well as manufacturing a wide range of soft seating and bespoke products at its production facility in Bristol. TC Group distributes to businesses throughout the UK, including hospitals, schools and private residences, on behalf of dealers,  internet retailers and wholesalers.

With a turnover of £25m and rapid growth, the company is sending between 150 and 200 pallets a night through TPN Member Davies Turner from its Birmingham depot.

“We offer next-day delivery if you order by 6pm,” says TC Group operations director Martin James. “We have worked with Davies Turner for 15 years for freight forwarding and warehousing. We now put 80% of our UK pallets through Davies Turner via TPN’s next day service.”

TC logistics manager Chris Davidge says: “The service is really good and we have a very low damage rate. It is also a very cost-effective service.”

TC Group took great care in choosing its network, even visiting the TPN Hub at Minworth. “The Hub is extremely efficient and very clean,” says Davidge. “That’s important to us because if furniture arrives with dusty packaging it gives a poor first impression of our product.”

Alex Wright, logistics contracts manager at Davies Turner says: “Through TPN, Davies Turner was able to offer TC Group the industry-leading service they required in order to secure the UK pallet distribution business. Our logistics team in Coleshill has spent the last few years streamlining the TC Group operation, so taking on the UK pallet distribution felt like a natural progression.”
