Staffordshire-based Reid Freight Services has invested £300,000 in modernising its fleet and premises as it celebrates its fortieth year of trading.
The family-based firm has consolidated its two previous warehouses into one enormous freshly roofed space, dedicated to TPN pallets. The company uses virtually all the lots available on the Cinderhill Industrial Estate in Longton, and has taken advantage of its space to create a new suite of offices.
“We’ve planned this very carefully and given the amount we have achieved it’s been very cost-effective,†says director Julie Rhodes. “Our 40-strong fleet has new trucks and trailers, we have an extra 15,000 sq ft of warehousing space, and we have far more opportunity to provide the extra services customers are asking for such as stock inventory and order fulfilment.â€
As well as having expertise in pallet work and general haulage, Reid Freight is a specialist in heavy haulage with 15 years’ experience of moving 100-tonne train carriages.
