In October, TPN —THE Pallet Network — safely delivered its 30 millionth pallet since the operation began in 2000. Four million-plus pallets will pass through the TPN operation in 2017 – but the network, as ever, is maintaining its reputation for excellence with a new customer information app.
“We are very proud that as our 30 millionth pallet passed through the Hub our service KPIs are still sector-leading,” says TPN MD Mark Duggan. “We have invested heavily in our in-house and unsurpassed IT system TPN Connect and are continuing to add to its ability to make palletised freight distribution easy and utterly reliable for our customers.”
The latest innovation from the TPN IT team, headed up by director Rob Haigh, is the TPN App – or TAPP. This allows customers to enter jobs on any iPhone or Android device and track their pallet all the way to its destination.
“TAPP will literally give TPN customers their pallet information at their fingertips, wherever they are,” says Haigh. “It continues our push to give B2B customers all of the sophistication and ease of use of the B2C marketplace.”
For recent recruit to the network EDG Group, TPN Connect was one of the key factors behind its choice of network. “TPN’s IT system is fantastic,” says Jamie Cracknell, EDG operations manager. “And it’s constantly evolving with new functionality. We are very impressed with how the network supports its hauliers and the potential this kind of technology gives us.”
