Lancashire-based McMurrays Haulage has invested substantially in its fleet to meet the needs of the growing business, adding two new double-deck trailers, 20 standard trailers and 18 tractor units.
MD David McMurray says that the company has expanded its fleet by 20 units over the past year, mainly prompted by the growth in general haulage.
“The pallet market is also strong,†he says. “We have taken an array of new Volvos and Dafs to ensure that the fleet is reliable, efficient and environmentally friendly as possible. It is important that we continue to invest because our fleet underpins our customer service levels and those are sacrosanct.â€
McMurrays ships a range of palletised goods from Blackburn businesses into the Hub, including homeware, polystyrene, bubble wrap, plastic bins and a range of manufactured goods and components.
