Birmingham-based LTS Distribution joins TPN Â on 13 April 2015, bringing its 60-strong fleet and substantial expertise in automotive, construction and warehousing.
LTS, which originated as a dedicated transport specialist, revisited its strategy with a view to ambitious growth two years ago. Its new strategy centred on logistics and warehousing, a move which has seen it more than double in revenue to £4.5m and which dovetails completely with its Membership of TPN.
“We have won some substantial contracts and last September invested in new warehousing facilities in B9, which gives us 3.3 acres to house the fleet and extensive storage space,†says LTS MD Dave Hands. “Joining TPN fits with our policy of making strategic partnerships with the best in field. For instance, this month we also signed a deal to handle UK imports for global freight handler, Ziegler Group.
“TPN will enable us to offer a cost-effective and high-quality national pallet offering to all our customers. We are very happy with our choice of network,†says Hands.
LTS has sought quality in all its commercial partnerships, he says, because this underlines the company’s own quest for high standards. “We are currently working through ISO:9001, the quality standard, and last year we achieved bronze accreditation for FORS. We intend to keep getting better and we want to work with people for whom continuous improvement is a part of their culture.â€
TPN MD Mark Duggan says he is delighted that LTS is joining the network. “The quality of a network is reflected from the quality of its Members and LTS is an excellent operation. We look forward to working with them,†he says.
