Boston, Lincolnshire-based Kimes Transport has renewed its entire fleet of artics, despite some of them being just one year old. The new Renault T Range vehicles are third-generation and the truck manufacturer has upgraded all Kimes’ tractive units so that it benefits from the cleanest and most efficient trucks available.
“Running economical and clean trucks is very important to us and to the environment,†says MD Nigel Kime. “Even though some of our fleet was quite new Renault agreed to replace them all so that we could benefit from the latest telematics, new gearboxes and the very best of its emissions technology. The trucks are proving themselves very good on fuel.â€
The company has also invested in two new double-deck trailers, and two Still forklifts which are also fuel-efficient, using a diesel-electric drive and a hydraulic pump.
Kimes has also been remodelling its 94,000 sq ft warehousing development. Extra racking has expanded its capacity to 11,000 pallets.
