Keedwell Scotland triples size of business through great customer service

Keedwell Scotland, a joint venture owned by the McLellan family and RT Keedwell, celebrated a momentous first year in business, having tripled its turnover since it started in February 2016.

Keedwell Scotland covers the Falkirk postcodes for TPN, and was the joint brain child of RT Keedwell which needed a company to handle its Scottish freight, and the owners of family firm McLellan Transport. Since its inception the company has gone from 15 employees to 55 and now runs a fleet of 45 vehicles from artics to Sprinters.

Currently Keedwell puts 60 pallets a night into the network but an expects a new contract to double that.

“Part of our success comes from the fact that we design our operation around our customers,” says director John McLellan. “For instance, our trailers are specially designed with tail-lifts so that our drivers can self-tip at busy delivery points if necessary. This is a big selling point with customers.”

He says Keedwell Scotland and its customers have taken to the TPN system easily, as its operation is managed by a former TPN auditor.
