New Hi Speed Surrey depot promises higher capacity and lower mileage

Hi Speed Services has combined its two of its previous sites, in Aldershot and Camberley, into one with its new premises in Ash Vale, in Surrey.

The new site is 20,000 sq ft and has parking for 30 HGVs. MD Ian Dawkins says offers far greater capacity for growth but is also in a much more convenient location for customers. “We are now located just off the A331, which is easier for many of our customers and, of course, cuts mileage on both our collections and deliveries which means more cost-effective, greener transport,” he says.

This is not just lip service to the environment, he says: Hi Speed recently joined the Freight Transport Association’s acclaimed Logistics Carbon Reduction Scheme, which measures the environmental impact of your business activities and, in particular, fuel usage.

“We still have a depot in Rugby but this new premises consolidates our Surrey depots, makes the company more efficient and is considerably bigger in terms of vehicle space and warehousing, so it gives us room to grow,” says Dawkins.
