Hallam Express invests in top-range kit

Sheffield-based Hallam Express has responded to strong growth by investing in several new fleet vehicles and trailers, as well as replacing older parts of the fleet with the latest in efficient, clean units.

MD David Simpson says that business has been strong across the whole market, particularly since the company opened a new depot in Chesterfield in 2014. It now takes eight double-deckers a night into the TPN Hub, which is approximately 400 pallets.

“We’ve gained lots of new contracts based on our great service reputation,” says Simpson.

Ten new Volvo tractors will be enhancing the 35-strong rigid and artic fleet. The new vehicles will all be Euro 6 which is the cleanest emissions standard available. Ten new SDC trailers have also arrived, with a further 15, plus two new double-deckers, on order.

The company has also invested in a new striking black and yellow livery.
