Goldilocks goes bald for charity

Billingham-based Nicholson’s Transport driver Paul Madden has raised more than £400 for this local hospice after colleagues lopped off his flowing locks.

Madden accepted a challenge from the company’s MD to shave his long golden hair and colleages obliged him at the company’s recent barbecue. He raised £441 for Butterwick Hospice in Stockton.

The dad-of-two said: “I am glad I have done it now as it’s for a great cause. But I had this challenge literally hanging around my head for a couple of months and was waiting until my hair got really long to get the full effect.”

Paul persuaded friends, family and colleagues at Nicholson’s Transport to sponsor his head shave with the proceeds now helping with service delivery at the Hospice.
