GC Distribution goes for Gold with FORS

GC Distribution has upgraded its entire fleet to the cleanest, Euro 6 standard available and also has plans to go for Freight Operator Recognition Scheme Gold accreditation this year. FORS is a quality assurance standard for commercial vehicle fleets.

The company is based in Purfleet and does a lot of work in East and central London. As such it has been very involved with the policies and initiatives to tackle air pollution.

“In 2020 all trucks in London will need to be Euro 6 to minimise emissions but we have decided not to wait until we have to do this – we wanted to do it as soon as possible,” says MD Graham Paine. “It is important to us to embody qualities like excellence in practice.”

GCD is currently accredited to silver standard in the FORS and intends to achieve Gold this year.
