Halifax-based Claude Hellowell has tripled its business over the last six months as personal care and high service levels have won the company recommendations throughout its area.
Chris Lord, general manager, has over 17 years experience within the industry and so understands the pallet sector well. “TPN’s service regulations are very strict and proactive and that draws customers in,†he says. “We used to be a traditional style haulier but it is clear that it is the TPN service offering that customers really want.â€
Lord recently hired Mandy Franks, one of Nightfreight’s top sales people five years running, to reach out to new customers. “There are only five of us in the office and we pride ourselves on giving a personal service,†says Lord. “Whoever takes a call handles that customer all the way through that piece of business and resolves any issues for them. It gives excellent care and continuity.â€
The company has seen pallet input grow from 150 pallets a week to 640, and Lord is aiming to input 1,000 pallets a week by next year. It ships a wide range of product including point of sale displays, electric motors and wood burning stoves.
“We’ve just ordered four new trailers,†says Lord, “two double-deckers and two-step frames, to keep up with customer demand.â€
